Outstanding Service Awards

April 22nd, 2021

Amy Dresser

The Lovejoy High School PTSO is pleased to award Amy Dresser with the 2021 Outstanding Service Award.  Nurse Dresser is an outstanding contributor to LHS students and families! Since joining the LHS staff as our nurse, she has served students in a kind, thoughtful, intuitive way. She strikes just the right balance of treating students with dignity and care. But this year, her service to our students has been especially challenging due to Covid-19! She has had to make difficult calls to protect students and families. The community is thankful for and amazed by the honorable and diligent way she serves the LHS community.  Amy has served the students at Lovejoy High School since Spring 2018.  She has been a registered nurse for 21 years with a background in general medicine, diabetes, infectious disease, and many other areas.

Jay van Rijn

The Lovejoy High School PTSO is pleased to award Jay van Rijn with the Outstanding Service Award for 2021.  Jay is a member of the LHS PTSO board, and he has been instrumental in allowing the PTSO to provide content for their programs through his innovative technology solutions.  Jay has done an excellent job during this difficult time to not only support the PTSO transition from a PTSA, but to also make the organization available digitally for this season of distance and limited visibility.  Jay also serves as a director for the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools where he has helped increase the Foundation’s fundraising though the new Friends of the Foundation program for community partners.  We are thankful for all of Jay’s support of our community!
