The Lovejoy High School PTSO is pleased to recognize Kari Aguilar and Tanya Barger, as recipients of the Lovejoy Council of PTOs Outstanding Service Award. This recognition is one of the highest honors which can be bestowed upon an individual by our PTSO. These two women are special individuals who have given outstanding service to our children this year.
About the recipients:
Kari Aguilar serves from her heart and is always available when there is a need. This year, Kari led the Letter Writing Campaign and did an excellent job collecting cards, promoting students and parents to write letters and then distributing them during the pie event for the teachers and staff. When the PTSO board lost their hospitality chair, she assumed the role and is serving in two positions. Kari jumped into the hospitality role with such ease and love for showing gratitude to the staff of Lovejoy High School. She balances multiple roles and responsibilities in her volunteering. Kari is a perfect example of outstanding service to Lovejoy. Kari has been in district 4 years this September and has made great contributions to our students and staff.
Tanya Barger is the Administrative Assistant to the Counselors and stepped up this fall making herself readily available to support the needs of the seniors. Tanya worked tirelessly to ensure that the Class of 2022 did not miss deadlines or get lost in the college application process. She obtained transcripts, sent the letters of recommendations, and counseled students and parents on the application portals and the required forms. Tanya exemplifies outstanding service in Lovejoy. Tanya has been in district 16 years and has worked for the district the 4 years she is a great asset to the district.
Kari and Tanya and other recipients from the different campuses were recognized on Monday, April 25th at the School Board meeting.
